127 large stones were recently found in Amapa, in northern Brazil. The discovery, which shows an advanced knowledge of astronomy, is changing the notion that the area consisted of primitive societies before European influence. Pottery at the site dates back to 2,000 years ago, though it’s still unknown exactly when the structure itself was built. The layout also suggests an observatory or temple may have existed there.
