Darfur’s Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) has been fighting for greater power and wealth for the last 3 years. Though now the SLA has split and is fiercely fighting one another. According to survivors from northern Darfur, SLA groups led by Minni Minnawi, emptied villages around the town of Korma. Minnawi’s faction was the only group that signed the peace agreement, under pressure of the international community, while the conflict victims rejected the deal. The African Union has been informed that Minnawi is now responsible for over 50 deaths in his capture of the town of Korma. It is now becoming clear that rushing an agreement was a mistake. Peacekeepers have also been denied access to Korma. source
