Nine Palestinians were killed and many more were injured by Israeli troops including Wail Tannous, an Aljazeera broadcast technician, in occupied Palestine.

A spokesman for the Israeli military said that troops on an arrest raid responded by opening fire at fighters in the city of Nablus. According to Aljazeera’s broadcast technician Wail Tallous, a group of Palestinians threw stones at Israeli soldiers who fired back with rubber bullets.

Medics confirmed the death of 3 members of [the] al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, which is an armed wing of the Fatah movement. Four Palestinian fighters and 2 civilians, including a 16 year old, were also killed. More than 45 Palestinians were wounded, including at least 10 children.

The offence started at dawn near the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, where Israeli soldiers and tanks crossed the border as a continuation of what was started 3 weeks ago regarding a captured Israeli soldier. Since the Israeli soldier was captured over 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israel, of which almost half were civilians.
