Noam Chomsky, the famed author and professor of linguistics and philosophy at MIT is described as �arguably the most important intellectual alive� by the New York Times. Perhaps it is also relevant to note that Chomsky, who is of Jewish decent, considers himself a Zionist in the traditional sense.
