US senator, Joe Lieberman, has been defeated in the primary elections for his support of the war in Iraq. Ned Lamont ran against Lieberman on a platform of strong opposition to the war. Many see this as a top issue for upcoming midterm election in November when the US Congress may be handed back to the Democrats due to Republican support for the war. Lamont said he would take his anti-war stance to Washington. He continued, “The people in Connecticut think that staying the course is not a winning strategy in Iraq… They want to start bringing our troops home.”
The race in Connecticut has attracted national attention, highlighting Democratic disapproval of the war. Lieberman, after realizing he would lose the race for the Senate nomination, said he would run as an independent candidate for Senate. He had argued in agreement with many Republicans that a pullout of US troops from Iraq would be disastrous for Iraq and the US. Lieberman’s loss makes him only the fourth incumbent US senator to lose a primary since 1980. In my opinion, any senator who voted to authorize the military invasion of Iraq ought to be cut loose for abandoning morality in favor of political gain. Mrs. Clinton, this means you too.

The first lesson I picked up in my old lobbying days: There is no difference between democrat and republican.
And at this turn, the people have made a wise decision. AIPAC owned this clown. And the people dumped his ass. Good for them. Now lets do the same with Hillary and all those other AIPAC stooges.
I don’t like telling people “what to do” so please don’t take it necessarily as such… but…
Remember, if you believe in the power of the vote, you must also hold the politicans accountable for their actions on a fairly consistant basis. As we tool around the net, check their voting records. Check their websites and see where they stand on things. Write emails, write letters… and even better: get all your homies together and show up to their district office and tell them what’s up. Schedule a meeting, or don’t. But let them know you’re watching…
Let them know… you’re not a fool.
