Today I read two separate interviews with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Lately there’ve been talks of war from Bush over uranium enrichment, and the majority of Americans are still under the impression that President Ahmadinejad is a nutcase. I have no idea where people get that impression other than from Bush’s mouth. And as we all know from the WMD fiasco, the presidents mouth isn’t exactly a reliable source. I’ll post a few excerpts, but I encourage everyone to read the interviews in full.

Military force should always be the last option, yet this administration has shown the world it only has hammers in its tool box. It’s up to the American people to resist yet another war which can be fully avoided if just a bit of diplomacy were practiced. The Iranian president has requested an audience with Bush and sent him letters in an effort to resolve these issues. To date, Bush has outright ignored Ahmadinejad’s requests for open communication, and continued to blast him.

TIME Interview:

TIME: Are America and Iran fated to be in conflict?

Ahmadinejad: No, this is not fate. And this can come to an end. I have said we can run the world through logic. We are living our own lives. The U.S. government should not interfere in our affairs. They should live their own lives. They should serve the interests of the U.S. people. They should not interfere in our affairs. Then there would be no problems with that.

TIME: Are you ready to open direct negotiations with the U.S.?

Ahmadinejad: We have given them a letter, a lengthy letter. We say the U.S. Administration should change its behavior, and then everything will be solved. It was the U.S. which broke up relations with us. We didn’t take that position. And then they should make up for it.

TIME: Does Iran have the right to nuclear weapons?

Ahmadinejad: We are opposed to nuclear weapons. We think it has been developed just to kill human beings. It is not in the service of human beings. For that reason, last year in my address to the U.N. General Assembly, I suggested that a committee should be set up in order to disarm all the countries that possess nuclear weapons.

Brian Williams Interview:

Williams: But I think even our president expressed today America’s quarrel is not with the Iranian people. It’s with you.

Ahmadinejad: The war, who was it against? The Iranian government or the Iranian people? Against the Iranian nation. When (UNINTEL) son was occupied was it an act against the Iranian government or the Iranian nation? The bombardment of our cities by Saddam, was that an act against the government or the people? Who supported Saddam? Were these truly acts against the Iranian government? Iran has been under sanctions for 27 years. Even spare parts for aircrafts are denied to us. Is this against the government or an act against the people? Again, I’m saying, in Iran, the government and the nation are one. And I am the representative of the Iranian people. Certainly not as a judge, but as an elected official.

Williams: If your goal is dialogue with America, and the American president says, “It’s OK, keep your nuclear programs and keep your homes warm. Stop enriching uranium toward weapons.” How do you react?

Ahmadinejad: Who is the right judge for that? Any entity except the IAEA? Reports indicate that Iran has had no deviation. We have said on numerous occasions that our activities are for peaceful purposes. The agency’s cameras videotape all the activities that we have. So I ask, did Iran build the atomic bomb and use it? Who are the ones who are testing the third generation of nuclear bombs? All bombs with micro-agents or chemical agents. You must know that, because of our beliefs and our religion, we’re against such acts. We are against the atomic bomb. We believe bombs are used only to kill people. And we are against killing people.

Williams: You have large missiles with a long range. Why keep them in your arsenal if you don’t someday hope to tip them with a nuclear weapon?

Ahmadinejad: So are you thinking of the possibility of a danger? Is that what you’re speaking of?

Williams: I’m asking about your arsenal.

Ahmadinejad: Yes, we are powerful and strong in defending ourselves. But, again, I ask, who has the nuclear bomb and has used it before? Which one is a bigger danger? One that’s trying to develop a fuel for peaceful purposes? Or the one that made a nuclear weapon? That’s where my main point is. We think that the world should run with justice. Some governments cannot pursue an arsenal of nuclear weapons, but then prevent others from developing fuel for peaceful purposes thinking that there might be a future threat. And that’s preventing them from developing the facilities that they need for peaceful nuclear development. We think that the nuclear issue is an excuse, just like previous excuses. We think that the American government is against development of Iran. Not a nuclear weapon, per se. Because, after all, there are other governments in our region that have nuclear weapons. But they’re supported by the American government. So how do you respond to this contradiction?

  1. Sadly, since JFK and arguably even before and throughout history, Presidents, Kings, etc have always pulls the hammers from the tool box. Is it up to the citizens of the United States to stop this? Or is it an issue of humanity?

As we examine that which coinsides with this vast generation of human’s (meaning from Sumeria to now) we see that true evolution comes through an expanded conciousness. Is it ironic that armageddon is possible at the same time that human thought is at her highest levels? Do we find it odd that as the masses wake up to certain horrors, more and more pile on?

The “Powers That Be” know they don’t have much time. They know that, as we don’t stand for this, our children won’t either. The Baby Boomers couldn’t draw the parallels that we can, simply, I believe, because they didn’t necessarily have the same sources of information. Like this blog for example.

The Baby Boomers protested but then let it all go. Why? Because the majority of them saw a difference between Nixon and Regan. Us? We know better. We know it’s all the same B.S. Our children will know it’s all the same B.S. and I truly believe that is why we see this sadistic accelerated quest for supreme power. The N.W.O. as it’s commonly called and has been called for decades.

Remember, all of this was planned moons ago. “Arab-Terrorism” was set up, intentionally in the late 1960s, 1970s… through the 1980s, so that after communism, only the final triangle religious war to end all wars was left. All of this has been manifested from day one.

    Hate begets hate.
    Love begets love.
And that’s what the world needs now, healing and love.

It might sound cheesy… but can you think of a simpler solution?

“The authority of the state over its people resides in its war powers. ” - Mr. X in JFK the movie.

  2. To Yazo and the people of planet Earth I say that his suggestion that real love and universal healing are what are needed to put the world aright is 100% spot-on!

The “powers that be” have carefully orchestrated the situation that exists today over the last 6 decades. President Dwight Eisenhower warned us of the rise of the so-called “military-industrial complex” many years ago. But this “stool” has a third leg, This is the leg that is never spoken of…namely the government. Those who have almost all of the money/wealth are the fathers of the New World Order. The reason that this fact is routinely ignored and purposely hidden is that it represents an ideology that almost any dolt who owns a dictionary and can read or have it read to them. This word is “FASCISM”. We in the US live in a fascist oligarchy. The truth is as plain as the noses on our faces.

That which used to serve democracy with more or less unbiased news reports has been co-opted and corrupted by ownership of almost every “news” organ in the nation who use their so-called news divisions as propaganda tools. This represents the most dangerous trend in our history. With the corruption of these sources of information the cornerstone of any real democracy, an informed electorate and public, died. The whores at Fox/Rupert Murdoch, NBC/MSNBC/GE, Disney/ABC and CNN/Time Warner are all about purveying the real “company line” and the accompanying agenda NOT discovering and disseminating the truth. Expecting truth from this sump hole is about as smart as expecting enlightenment from a vending machine. The talking heads at all of these “news” sources are just pimps for their corporate bosses who happen to be selling misinformation instead of used cars.

The truth of this has just been borne out by the Presidential race debates which were rigged to the max to choose whom we the people could hear from over the airwaves and the bandwidth that we the people own. I’ve seem some obviously rigged stuff in my time but this was the most obvious, ham-handed and churlish fix I have ever seen.

As for me, I will neither watch any programming from any of these outlets nor will I buy anything that the parent companies produce. When I think of the GE line “we bring good things to life’ I almost vomit. What GE brings include war materiel from their Raytheon Division along with their other division which is the largest manufacturer of nuclear power plants. That’s right…instruments of death and power plants to produce energy while making more and more nuclear waste with no idea of what to do to store this waste safely for what amounts to perpetuity. Two really good things that this corporate entity brings to life.

The reaction of Fox regarding to Montel Williiams’ absolutely true and worthy statement of truth to power is a prime example of what has happened in America while everyone was at the mall doing that most important of all American functions, namely, buying more and more stuff (on credit for the most part) for things which they have no real need.

If you want your freedom, a thriving middle class, democracy and a decent place in which to rear your children then I suggest that you cast no “dollar votes” for any of the products of these soulless companies who are stealing your life and your freedom day by day and using your hard-earned money with which to do it. This boycott should extend to any companies that support the so-called newscasts by their sponsorship of these propaganda organs.

Well folks, welcome to the “New American Plantation”. Your function is to get up early, work on your job at the plantation, get paid less and less for your longer hours of work, do without benefits and be sure to smile when any overseer comes by.

People that love, honor and respect one another do not live like this and none of us should have to.

    Rave on…

  3. Major props to you guys for posting this. Thank God somebody finally had the fairness of mind to listen to a Mideast leader without the usual indoctrinated american rabid racist bias. I have been appalled, & uncharacteristically silent, as virtually everyone, progressives especially, jumped on the demonization bandwagon, all too anxious to declare any and all Middle Eastern leaders bloodthirsty madmen. Why is it black & white guys are never bloodthirsty madmen, even though they’re the ones hacking off limbs and dropping wmds by the thousands? What I’d like to say to these people: Unless you speak fluent Farsi, Arabic, Pashtu, etc., and have an in-depth understanding of Middle Eastern history, how the hell do you have any idea what these guys are really about? Oh, that’s right, you know they’re bad guys because bush and cheney told you so. Uh huh. Why is it that you don’t believe ANYTHING that these ratbastards say, except this shit? Go ahead. I’m listening.
