Yousef Falay, an extremist Jewish rabbi living in the occupied West Bank, has called on the Israeli government to use military force to kill all Palestinian males over the age of 13. The fanatical rabbi said, “We have to make sure that no Palestinian individual remains under our occupation. If they (Palestinians) escape then it is good; but if anyone of them remains, then he should be exterminated.”

Rabbi Falay’s statements can be compared to those of King Herod from biblical times, or Rabbi Kahane in the 1990’s. Rabbi Kahane’s followers were connected to a number of murders against Palestinians. In 1994 one such follower of Rabbi Kahane’s Kach movement gunned down Palestinians praying in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, killing 29 and injuring 125. Israeli soldiers at the scene did nothing to stop him as he reloaded and continued firing, but was eventually overwhelmed by survivors as he stood in front of the only exit to the Mosque.

The concept of exterminating or expelling Palestinians is not only embraced by fanatics but prominent Israeli politicians as well. The most recent call for ethnic cleansing made by a politician came from parliament member Effie Eitam. On September 11, 2006, Eitam said, “We have to expel most Arabs from Judea and Samaria. We can’t deal with all these Arabs, and we can’t give up the territory, because we’ve already seen what they do there. Some of them might have to stay under certain conditions, but most of them will have to go.” To date, no investigation or condemnation of Eitam’s comment has been made by the Israeli government. Ahmad Tibi, an Israeli Arab parliament member said, “If Eitam’s remarks would have been said in German, they would have been more authentic.” Such comments are all too common amongst Jewish Israeli politicians. Israel itself has a host of discriminatory laws targeting Arabs.
