Wal-Mart: Always Low Ethics. Always.

A Pennsylvania jury has found Wal-Mart guilty of breaking state labor laws by forcing their employees to work off the clock, as well as during mandatory break times. Apparently, Wal-Mart must’ve confused their American workers with their unprotected Chinese ones. The class-action lawsuit represents over 187,000 current and former employees.

Jurors will return next Friday to determine the damages owed. The plaintiff’s lawyers are seeking at least $63 million. A spokesman for WakeUpWalMart.com, a union-funded effort to improve working conditions at the stores, said, “I think it reinforces that this company’s sweatshop mindset is a serious problem, both legally and morally.”
