This is a clip from the most recent Simpson’s Halloween special. At the end we see a biting comparison between a destructive alien invasion and the US-led War in Iraq. By making Springfield the victim of the attack, The Simpsons is able to tease sympathy for the Iraqi people while showing that the US is an alien force. I’m amazed that such a blatant jab at the Bush Administration and their liberator-logic was even aired on Fox. The closing scene is particularly eerie. Kudos to them.

Wow. Its been awhile since I’ve seen a new episode of The Simpsons, mostly because they seemed to be increasingly ludicrous in recent years. I’m shocked to see this.
Eerie is a good way to describe the last part of this scene, kubrick-like might be an even better way.

Fox had to air this, The Simpson get about half the networks ratings, letting them go would be insanity.

You should be aware… this is the EDITED version. The version shown overseas had ONE more line in it.
You can find it on YouTube

The more recent episode that aired last night was even more blatant, Kudos to the writers, I used to love the Simpsons, now I love them even more…. if that were possible

@Aladek
Thanks for alerting me to that episode. I had it on my computer, but hadn’t watched it until now. Here’s a posted clip from the beginning of that one:
