ABC News armed students with hidden cameras and microphones in order to expose the deceitful tactics of army recruiters. One student asked a recruiter, “Nobody is going over to Iraq anymore?” To which the recruiter responded, “No, we’re bringing people back.” When asked the same question, another recruiter said, “We’re not at war. War ended a long time ago.”
Yet another recruiter claimed that if you didn’t like the Army you could just quit. “It’s called a ‘Failure to Adapt’ discharge,” the recruiter said. “It’s an entry-level discharge so it won’t affect anything on your record. It’ll just be like it never happened.” Last year, the Army suspended recruiting nationwide to retrain recruiters following hundreds of allegations of improprieties.
One Colorado student pretended to be a drug-addicted dropout during his recruiting session. The recruiter, aware of his addiction, assured the student that he wouldn’t get in trouble. He then helped him to cheat on his application to sign up. Some recruiters even told the students that new enlistees are unlikely to be sent to Iraq, when in fact, new recruits are the most likely to be sent there. Sue Niederer, whose son, Seth, joined the Army in 2002 and was killed by a roadside bomb, said recruiters told Seth he wouldn’t be put into combat. “Ninety percent [are] going to be putting their lives on the line for our country,” she said. “Tell them the truth. That’s all. Just tell them the truth.”

[…] In their most recent episode, The Simpsons poked fun at the US Army so much that it completely overshadowed any botched joke John Kerry has ever made. Here I’ve posted a scene from the beginning of the episode that satirizes the shady practices of army recruiters. The episode later went on to criticize the caliber of recruits the army has been accepting. […]

i am doing a report, on military recruiters lying, for my senior project for school. i have had many people tell me that most national guard recruiters lie more than army recruiters. im having a hard time of telling which one is lying more. i have heard more recruiters tell me that most recruiters get pressured into lying, bc of the goal they try to make each month. If we have to lie to people to get them to join the military then noone, poeple that say they care for our country, dont really care. Plus, if you sign no matter what you should automatically assume you have a good chance of going to iraq/ war. our freedom is not free. we have to pay for our freedom. thats what most poeple need to realize. when your loved one signs that line the military now owns them. if you sign dont sign bc you need the money for college or some other crap, sign bc you want to defend your country. bc you love your country. We shouldnt blame the recruiters, our loved ones knew what they were going to get into. Our loved ones should take responsibility for their actions.

My only daugther enlisted active in the us army after her recruiter (who was a personal friend) lied and made false promises. After confronted by our family he said it was what he was trained to do and that he was not aware he was giving false information to all his enlistees until he question his boss and was told that we were right that my daughther was not going to receive the bonuses and everything else that was promised. This recruiter had recently receive a ring for exceeding the amount of enlistees he recruited so you can imaging the amount of young men and woman who felt betrayed by our country. I personally know he feels awful for what he did but if at one point these kids felt that they wanted to served the coutry they believe in, I now know that must of them are looking for a way of getting out of that mess. So if you are considering a millitary career don’t believe anything if it’s not in black and white and make sure your contract states all the promises, don’t trust no one!

well first off if anyone can get lied to by a recruiter they must be omish and have no access to the internet or just an idiot and shouldn’t join anyway because the military would be too complicated for them anyways. everything that a recruiter says can be verified using the internet or by asking a service member. everything that you are promised when joining is always in writing for example a bonus will be stated in plain text of how much you get. you don’t get your bonus until after you complete all your training and most times you are only given half and the rest is prorated during the rest of your enlistment. most recruiter do not want to be a recruiter but are put on special assignment as a recruiter and are just trying to do their job for the required 3 yrs. how would you liked if you had a job and people made a website just to complain about how you do it. these young men and women joined because they had pride in their country and wanted to be part of something bigger than anything you could imagine but sometimes they are asked to do things that they would prefer not to but in order to keep their jobs they do it anyway. rather than complaining about them how about walking up to them and shaking their hand and saying thank you for doing something i don’t have the courage to do.

People say that rap is a dead form. I tend to believe different, I believe it’s just evolving, and staying current. Prime example is what we’ve been doing over here… Check out Kryptik - V.I.P ft. Crooked I. Just google it, I don’t wanna spam a link. poor mother
