- The San Francisco school board has decided that the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) will be eliminated from high schools within two years. I bet O’Reilly is gonna have a field day with this one.
- No strings attached. The next big step in electronics could be wireless power delivery through electromagnetic resonance. Imagine future electric vehicles utilizing this technology.
- Here’s more proof that Fox News is about as “fair and balanced” as being on a teeter-totter with Kirstie Alley.
- A Republican panel claims that abortion is to blame for illegal immigration from Mexico because of a shortage of American workers. I assume they mean that Mexicans are taking the jobs dead babies would have, and not that they’re rushing over to fill the booming abortion doctor industry.
- Bush has initiated his own panel to counter the recommendations of the Iraq Study Group. Americans sent a strong message to the White House during the midterm elections that they wanted change in Iraq. Why do I get the feeling that Bush is one of those guys who doesn’t check his messages?
- And now for something educational. According to the US government, the lethal dose of marijuana is somewhere between one-third your body weight and 1,500 pounds consumed all at once. That sounds like a challenge to me.

Love the “Daily Connect” by the way. A sincere connection to each new day of news stories that would otherwise get lost in the fanaticism that is otherwise the news media.
The SF Gate is an interesting piece. The last line of the article, is really more interesting than the entire rest of the article.
“On other matters, the board introduced a resolution that makes race a factor in deciding what school a child will attend starting with the 2008-09 school year. No action was taken.”
Also, maybe the same republicans that dislike “liberal social welfare policies” believe that many people consume 1,500 lbs of Marijuana. Maybe, that’s the real reason for illegal immigration.
Last time I consumed 1,500 lbs of anything I nearly died.
