In brilliant fashion, Stewart highlights a recent change in terminology adopted by the mainstream media. How bad is it when the only change we see on the Iraq War policy is the acceptance of the American media to now refer to it as a “civil war”? How additionally depressing is it when those of us opposed to the war are actually rejoicing over the name change instead of emphasizing the main issue, the increasing wave of violence actually responsible for the name change? Instead, we’re giving congratulations as if something has actually been accomplished.
Of course, the White House rejects this painfully obvious definition, but where’s the surprise there? I just pray that the Democrats actually do change things, or all of this post election celebrating will be the liberal version of a premature “mission accomplished” banner.
I also decided to include Stewart’s statement that America has now been in Iraq longer than it was in World War II. That’s a fairly sobering fact which illustrates our failure in Iraq. Your thoughts?

[…] Stewart then puts the current Iraqi civil war into perspective with a newly released video clip that shows Saddam’s formidable Weapons of Minimal Destruction. I don’t know why, but something tells me Iraq is an infinitely more dangerous threat now than it ever has been before. If Saddam had daughters anything like the Bush twins, at least we would’ve had a more legitimate reason to claim he was a threat. […]
