- The death of President Gerald Ford has been regarding largely with respect and fond memories. Taylor Marsh of HuffPo goes the other way and recounts the reasons why she Can’t Forgive Ford.
- Hot on the heals of Christmas in the Holy Land Israel announces the construction of a new settlement in the West Bank and the resumes attacks on Gaza.
- The president of Sudan finally accepts a UN package to help curtail violence in Darfur. Yay! Now that the UN is involved no one will be hurt anymore!
- The explosion of a oil pipeline kills over 200 in Lagos Nigeria. In May nearly 150 died from a similar explosion.
- Elsewhere in Africa Ethiopian backed forces advance near Mogadishu, the Arab League protests their presence, while the African Union supports it.
- First female double hand transplant is successful. Patient is warned not to clap for sometime.
- The entries are in for the 2nd annual say something nice about Bill O’Reilly contest.
- Lastly, due to my sisters awesomeness I got a Wii for Christmas. Consumerism triumphs in a joyous fit of Wii tennis.
