Colbert and O’Reilly to Trade Appearances

On January 18th, Stephen Colbert, the comedian who hosts the Colbert Report on Comedy Central, will be trading an appearance with Faux News host Bill O’Reilly, the unintentional comedian Colbert based his character on. On the Colbert Report, Stephen portrays himself as a self-absorbed jingoist who sees himself as the bearer of “truthiness” to an unenlightened world hijacked by rabid liberals. On the O’Reilly Factor, Bill O’Reilly portrays nearly the same pompous character, with the notable exception that his act is not an act.

Already, the verbal jabs are promising an entertaining show. When questioned about his appearance on the Colbert Report, Bill O’Reilly said, “I’m really looking forward to speaking to a man who owes his entire career to me.” Stephen Colbert countered by saying, “I look forward to the evening. It is an honor to speak face-to-face with a broadcasting legend, and I feel the same way about Mr. O’Reilly.” With his ability to hold a mirror up to right-wing fascists, is it possible that Colbert may just “nail” O’Reilly as bad as he did the president at the White House Correspondents Dinner? Stay tuned to this site for the video evidence.

  1. Colbert for President! I love the guy and even though he’s wacky and wierd, he’d be better than any of the other candidates.
