  • Bill Moyers spoke at the National Conference on Media Reform on Friday. Democracy Now! has the transcript and mp3. Moyers stressed the importance of independent sources and shared his vision of reform. Is hardcore nudity a major player in that vision? Read the transcript to find out.
  • BauerCount is keeping track of every murder Jack Bauer commits on 24. Each kill has video evidence and is separated by season. To be honest, Ive never watched the show due to its intended purpose and message, but I just may have to give in now that Ive seen Sutherland kill a man by biting his jugular. Its good to see Kiefer reviving his old role from The Lost Boys.
  • Anti-Neocons provide us with the play by play on the Scooter Libby trial. Libby could be facing 30 years total for one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury, and two counts of making false statements. Though not as big a media magnet as the OJ case, lets hope there will be plenty more of these trials to come.
  • Much like global warming, environmentalists have drawn attention to whaling for well over a decade as politicians simply looked the other way. Now with a group like Sea Shepherd Conservation Society threatening to ram whaling ships, the Environment Minister of Australia has taken the side of the activists and refused to grant the use of Australian ports to Japanese whaling boats. Kudos.
  • Finally, someone has created a website that isnt Myspace where you can browse through hundreds of photos of hot chicks and douchebags. HotChicksWithDouchebags.com has practically cornered the market with their url. Actually, I wouldnt qualify all the females on their site as hot chicks, but all the douchebags are definitely douche-worthy. It also doesn’t look like they’ll be running out of material anytime soon

  1. The Japanese catch, which is done for scientific reasons, has been approved by the IWC. There is not a single piece of legislature from any nation on earth that says Japan cannot carry on its cultural traditions.

The truth is, the anti-whaling groups are just engaging in the same old racist Japan-bashing that they did 60 years ago - at that time they called the Japanese Buck toothed Yellow people - and now they attack Japans cultural traditions.

It is an agenda meant to harm Japan, born from the Tokyo Tribunals and the policies of the Chinese Communist Party, which seek any way to victimize the Japanese.

Australias minister has effectively declared war on Japan, not unlike the US, who denied Japan her resources 65 years ago, forcing Japan into a war she did not want; Japan only wanted peace, but the blockade then is starting to resemble the blockade now. It seems that acts of Australian aggression are only meant to put Japan into a corner. The sad part is that its all done to appease the Chinese Communist Party, from whence the west receives its cheap labor. Again, Japan will be forced to fight for its survival, as the west attempts to starve it of its natural resources.
