SNL Takes a Shot at Hillary

Saturday Night Live took aim at Hillary Clinton’s insincere and politically opportunistic tendencies. Anyone who’s a regular visitor to the site knows that I’m not much of a Hillary supporter. Mrs. Clinton has always been clever enough to aptly distract her worst critics, but it looks as though a presidential run may just slow her retreat from that trailing snowball which she’s been able to keep at a safe distance thus far. As liberals, I think a few of us (especially some of the more popular bloggers) ought to pull our head out of the sand and admit that Hillary isn’t a serious alternative to the status quo. SNL makes a fair comparison between her and Lieberman in regards to the war.

And amid this new set of Clinton jokes, SNL still finds time to poke fun at the media misnomer which is “Hardball“. Despite not looking too much like him, Darrell Hammond pulls off a pretty decent Chris Matthews impersonation. If you close your eyes, his voice is spot on.

  2. Hillary’s performance in the Senate has been notable for its vanilla flavor. I am unimpressed. At the moment I’m hoping that Chuck Hagel and Joe Biden join forces as I’m assuming McCain and Lieberman may very well do for 2008.

  3. Vanilla, deadissue? Hillary’s only vanilla if you take out some of the other ingredients, like venom, gimlet-eyed calculation, and that humming dynamo intelligence. (If I had to pick a vanilla senator, it might, for example, be the harmless, predictable Ted K.) Watching HRC is as much spicy fun as watching Johnny Cochran in the OJ trial. Yeah, this all refers to bird watching, but how can anyone speak of Hillary in terms of fixed positions?

  4. You’d think Daddy Soros or some other fat cat liberal could pony up some money for this site, so the clip would actually play. Hillary is no better than the rest of the leaches in Washington and worse than many. I say fire them all on both sides of the aisle. Until we elect individuals that understand our government is supposed to be a representative republic and not a free pass to spend our money on whatever special interests tickle their fancy, this country will remain in decline regardless of your political viewpoint.

    Agreed, we definitely need some donations. You can do your part by clicking on as many ads as possible. Soon we’ll be able to host the videos on a flash server. Until then, all I can recommend is refreshing the page. It usually works fine if you let it load before playing.
