Part 1: SoTU Analysis

In last night’s episode, Colbert tore up the State of the Union by touching on Bush’s plan for Healthcare and his commitment to curb global “climate change”. Cheney’s inhuman qualities are also a constant source of amusement. After Colbert’s SoTU analysis, he went on to the Word and broke down the “myth of expertise” (video below). He was able to criticize both major news corporations, and the blogosphere in one fell swoop. Now that’s talent.

Colbert’s money quote: “Most people who can’t afford health insurance also are too poor to owe taxes, but if you give them a deduction from the taxes they don’t owe, they can use the money they’re not getting back from what they haven’t given to buy the healthcare they can’t afford.”
