• While we’re on the topic of big mistakes, Pentagon officials still insist that their argument of a connection between al-Qaeda and Saddam before the war was not unlawful, but simply a lie based on real intelligence. What a relief.
• A new high-resolution brain scan can identify patterns of activity, reading peoples intentions and thoughts. “These things are going to come to us in the next few years and we should really be prepared,” said Professor Haynes. And you thought wiretapping was scary?
• The first HIV vaccine trial is set to launch in South Africa. Some 3,000 HIV negative people will be injected with the vaccine containing three HIV genes.
• Apparently, the clinical term “vagina” is so offensive that “The Vagina Monologues” have been renamed to “The Hoo-haa Monologues” in Florida. I actually prefer “Chatter Box” as a replacement title. Does that mean medical books in Florida libraries should be placed in an 18 and over section?
