  • It’s now been shown that sleep deprivation makes you stooped. Um, I mean stupid. Well, on rats anyway. The irony of it all is that I was unable to sleep and reading this story at about 5 am.
  • Robert Cottage, a former candidate for the far-right British National Party, plead guilty to possession of explosives. His wife also discussed how he planned to shoot Tony Blair. I wrote a little post about Cottage and another white American terrorist the media has been silent about called, “The WASP Nests: How the Biggest Terrorist Caches Ever Found Were Buried”. Thanks to the efforts of some pissed off internet folks, this Cottage story is getting more than just blogs covering it now.
  • Much like an Eddie Murphy movie, news about Afghanistan only comes around once in awhile and it’s horrible when it does. Just in case you were wondering, we’re losing the war over there too. The Taliban has recently taken back a second district in the country’s Helmand province.
  • Japan is urging the IWC to allow commercial whale hunting, not that the ban has actually stopped them before. In such environmentally conscious times it astounds me that agendas like this could be pursued seriously. Won’t somebody listen to the giant crying whale mascot?
  • A car bombing in Iran has killed at least 11 and injured 31 when it blew up a bus owned by the Revolutionary Guards. But no need to worry, this kind of stuff happens all the time. The Ayatollah has warned that US efforts could divide Iranians amongst sectarian lines as they have in Iraq. Divide and conquer. Thank God (Allah) someone else sees it too.
  • Remember that letter from Iran I’m always talking about? You know, the one about Iran offering to be completely open about its nuclear program, helping to stabilize Iraq, ending its support for Palestinian groups the US considered terrorists, disarming Hezbollah, and recognizing Israel? Yes, the one the Bush administration wiped their ass with and threw away. Well, Condi conveniently doesn’t recall that letter existing. An ex-aide of hers says this memory lapse is “really quite curious”. Indeed.
