Dr. Michael Oppenheimer, one of the 2,500 co-authors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report, sat down with Colbert to discuss the very real phenomenon of Global Warming. The good doctor was quoted from the report as saying, “February 2nd will be remembered as the date when uncertainty was removed as to whether humans had anything to do with climate change on this planet. The evidence is on the table.” Colbert refuses to believe that all the science is in, but Oppenheimer does a great job of holding his own and gives us some great information to boot.

  1. Hasn’t Norway solved the problem of disposal of Nuclear Waste? I think we need nuclear and renewables, all as quickly as possible.

  2. Or better yet, China is close to a working fusion reactor. Fusion power produces more energy than fission, and it produces little to no waste, since it’s renewable. Better learn Mandarin, cuz by the time they get that going full scale, we’ll be reduced to coal.

  4. the effect of Global Warming these days is even worst. i think every government should pass stricter laws on Carbon Emissions. we should also concentrate more on renewable energy sources and avoid fossil fuels.

  5. - We should be more concerned about Global Warming and Climate Change because Typhoons are getting much stronger and there are greater incidence of Flooding. take for example the recent Typhoon Ketsana which devastated some countries in South East Asia.

  6. WOW! More like global cooling is taking place. As for Al Gore when was the last time anyone heard from this guy. Since the leak of the scandal he has been in hiding, so I guess Al crashed the bus!

  11. Just because it is cold all throughout the US right now does not mean that the average or MEDIAN temperatures are not rising every year throughout the entire world. When you hear some moron crack a joke about how cold it is outside therefore Global Warming is not happening realize you are dealing with a complete idiot.

  14. There are a few scientists who deny climate change, but most of these are not climatologists- their actual area of expertise is elsewhere. See logicalscience.com/consensus/consensusD1.htm. On the other hand 20,000 climatologists at NOAA, NASA, the National Academy of Sciences etc all recognize global warming and based on their scientific data (same reference). In addition, the CIA and Pentagon have both published reports based on climatologist’s evidence and stating that climate change is a real threat to our national security. These tend not to be the sort of “lying, liberal, progressive, socialist New World order” types which “jbird” reviles. Before you deny climate change review this one web site which summarizes the actual data http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/globalwarming.html#q10. Remember that these are America’s top climate experts, not political hacks and idealogues. Now if you chose to reject global warming at least be honest and admit that you’re committed to the idea that global warming is false and there is no data which will change our mind.

  15. Global Warming and Climate Change is the biggest environmental issue that we face these days. the long term effects of these environmental changes to a nations economy is quite damaging. there would be a shortage in food supply as well as on water supply too.
