Colbert takes on the Republican Governor of Texas in his Word on “bad medicine”. He explains how the new HPV vaccine will get rid of one of the main weapons parents have left – fear. Many on the left applaud the Republican governor’s mandatory vaccination plan, but there may be more to this agenda than simply looking after the health of Texans (otherwise Perry would probably be cracking down on fried Snickers bars too). Nevertheless, Colbert takes aim at the “religious” right who oppose the HPV vaccine for entirely irrational reasons.

Colbert’s Money Quote: “The message here is clear. If you have sex, God will give you cancer.”

  1. Haha! I love this guy.
I particularly liked the President of Vision America’s stance.
It makes perfect sense! Just like researching stem cell medicine and tissue engineering also being against God’s moral law. You know, if we cure things like paralysis and alzheimer’s, and that pesky organ replacement thing, then it will just promote people diving into shallow pools, growing old, and getting cancer or infections!
Oh wait, he was in Favor of cancer as a deterrent, wasn’t he…

    Now I’m confused…
