According to Whitehall sources, Prince Harry will almost certainly be carrying out his tour of duty in Iraq. He will be the first senior royal to serve on the front line since 1982 when Prince Andrew, Harry’s uncle, served in the Falklands as a helicopter pilot. The prince’s regiment will be sent in April.

Prince Harry graduated last year as an armored reconnaissance troop leader known to colleagues as Troop Commander Wales. He is able to lead 11 soldiers in four light armored Scimitar tanks to act as the “eyes and ears” of the Army.

Neither Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, or Blair have ever seen combat.
