In a particularly poignant scene, Family Guy opened by exposing the government’s failures in saving and reviving New Orleans by comparing it to Atlantis - a story too amazing to be true.

Family Guy then spent the majority of the episode centered around Bill Clinton. Ever since former Speaker Newt Gingrich made it public that he had an extramarital affair while he was leading the impeaching of Clinton, a dark cloud has been lifted from liberals. If either Gingrich or Giuliani run as the Republican candidate, the topic of adultery will virtually be off the table as they try to gain votes from the Christian Right. For once, the topic of adultery could work in favor of the Democrats. Without the assumption of moral superiority or the ability to claim that they support the troops more (Walter Reed), what will Republicans have left to argue during the 2008 election? Will they actually be forced to debate the issues?

To celebrate the death of said argument, I’m posting this montage of clips from last night’s episode of Family Guy where Clinton’s moral depravity was the butt of many a joke. In fact, Family Guy takes the Clinton-bashing to such an extreme that it’s obvious they’re making fun of the Clinton-bashers themselves by showing the absurdity of such a characterization. Hence, the hilarity of Peter’s statement that no one but himself is aware of Clinton’s sexual misconduct, which is all anyone associates with the ex-president now. However, liberals are now having the last laugh as the sex-crazed character is no longer part of the Republican weaponry. In a sense, we’ve reclaimed Bill Clinton, and this episode can be seen as part of the hazing. Fans of Night Court will also be pleasantly surprised.
