The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a pro-Israel lobby, is holding its annual policy conference in Washington DC. Amongst the speakers at the conference will be Dick Cheney, Nancy Pelosi, and Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. AIPAC is responsible for winning billions of dollars from America. This US-backing has allowed the militarily unchallenged nation of Israel to engage in human rights violations throughout the Middle East.

AIPAC is responsible for Americas disastrous support of Israel. The lobby has over 100,000 members whom have directed the policies of the White House and Congress for over 50 years. AIPAC has been successful in forcing Washington to accept their stance on the Palestinian issue, eliminating the possibility for other points of view to join in the discussion.

AIPAC has also ensured, with millions of dollars of influence, that virtually no politician will get elected to Congress unless they are pro-Israel. Nathan Guttman, of the US-Jewish newspaper, The Forward, said; “AIPAC is very influential because they have the grass roots organization, when a congressman first comes to Washington he already knows AIPAC, he has met their activists in his district, he knows what it means to be pro-Israel.”

As is evident by Pelosi and Cheney both speaking at the convention, the pro-Israel lobby controls both parties. Slightly more than half of the $9 million given to congressional candidates in the past two elections by pro-Israel groups was given to Democrats.

The lobby is amongst the top three most powerful pressure groups in Washington, and undeniably the most powerful foreign interest group. Massie Ritsch, an analyst for the lobbying watchdog Centre for Responsive Government, said; “Members of congress have traveled to Israel more often in the past two years, more often than they’ve been to Chicago, in our own country. It is the most traveled foreign destination for members of congress.”

Guttman says AIPAC will focus on Iran and force Washington to toughen its stance during the conference. Israeli officials have already expressed their eagerness to bomb Iranian facilities with nuclear weapons. However, as Jimmy Carter knows, criticism of Israel is still taboo in the United States. When a pair of university professors, John Walt and Stephen Mearsheimer, published a paper last year suggesting AIPAC’s power distorted American foreign policy, they were attacked and labeled anti-Semites.

  1. Let us not forget the connection between this very powerful organization and its sister organizations that opperate as a very intelligent, powerful, cohesive unit for Israeli politics.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which is the oraganization that is responsible for labeling people as anti-semites, and AIPAC are both branches from the same root: The B’nai B’rith, which is the “Jewish” version/arm of the Scottish Rite Freemasonry. I won’t get into the details, but they do exist on their respective websites. Furthermore, the financial seed that planted the B’nai B’rith and these sister organizations is the Rothchild Banking Dynasty. The Rothchild Bankind Dynasty made huge investments into the establishment of the State of Israel (look it up on wikipedia).

These “movements” all began in England and Europe, where Zionism was born. These organizations in question adhere to a Zionist political philosophy.

Long story short — this “Tree” was established and established with great sucess, to secure international geo-political issues for the State of Israel, especially in the United States. But don’t take my word for it, do your own research.

Meanwhile, my hat’s off to AIPAC, the ADL and Israel, they sincerely do a helluv a job in suceeding in their agendas.

  2. I really think it’s a slippery slope from what yazo is saying to the “international Jewish conspiracy” mumbo jumbo that does spring from anti-Semitic groups.

From my perspective, Israel has provided the US with a tactical and geographical foothold in a very volatile part of the world.

To go from a mutually beneficial relationship with Israel, to endorsing and supporting Zionists as they treat non-Jews in the region as less than human, is inexcusable.

Rather than using wikipedia to trace links between Jewish organizations in search of some conspiracy (and make no mistake that’s what’s being discussed here) I think it might be more helpful to look at what The Jerusalem Post and other Israeli newspapers have to say, especially some of their letters to the editor, which are online. Some of those letters make Jimmy Carter look like he is sugarcoating it. There are a large number of Israelis, in Israel and around the world, who get it that the treatment of Palestinians in Israel, the building of walls, tunnels, and barracades, the “Israel right or wrong and shore nuff for the Jews alone” is BAD for Israel. Not to mention the constant need of corrupt racist Prime Ministers to have a war every three years to shore up support for their fragile parlimentary coalitions.

And the fact that rabid pro-Israel right wingers in this country have turned our State Department into a sock puppet for ONE side within Israel is so damaging to the entire world. The entire world.

  3. Blue Gal:

Firstly, I cannot condone the use of the word “conspiracy” in the seemingly negative connotation as you have presented it here. If you didn’t mean it that way, then I apologize. As an Armenian who has worked in various lobbyist organizations revolving around the “Armenian Cause,” what I can say from experience is that these Armenian organizations are, in fact, partners, branches of each other and connected to the same big money pots within the community.

The Israeli oraganizations in the U.S. and abroad opperate in the same manner. This is not a “conspiracy” but rather a tactical effort on behalf of these various organizations, to work together to achieve a Pro-Israeli agenda. This is not a bad thing. It is what it is. In fact, as I stated, all organizations with nationalistic agendas should take notes from the ADL and AIPAC, because they are highly influential and sucessful.

And, yes, having spoken with various Israeli citizens and Patriots, they are in agreement that the perpetual violence and acts of the Zionist party are not for the benefit of Israel.

    Now, regarding your statement:

“From my perspective, Israel has provided the US with a tactical and geographical foothold in a very volatile part of the world”

I would flip that. Observing the history of the State of Israel, especially from the Western Geo-Political Perspective, Israel was CREATED to be a foothold in the region. The partnership between the “West” and Israel that exitsts now is mearly an extention of an almost 150 year old relationship.

If you don’t like Wikipedia (which I only site because it’s been sited on this site before in a nuetral, familar fashion) consider looking into British Geo-political history regarding Zionism. The Zionist movement, which gained a full head of steam in the mid-late 1800s, was largely supported by Great Britain because of the strategic importance of the land that the Zionists had their eyes on. Now, in order to explore how this British-Israeli relationship shifted to include a U.S. parternship, one would probably have to get into Anglo-American Oil Politics and would then explain why the State Department is a “sock puppet.”

    I think I’ve said enough for now…

…And used the word “Geo-Politica” way too much. :-) Does anyone have another word or phrase to describe such things? Besides “bullshit?” :-P

Oh, yeah, and isn’t it true that Jews aren’t the only “Semetic” people?

Thanks for commenting. The only thing I have to add is that the threat does not come solely from “rabid pro-Israel right wingers in this country”, but from those who also consider themselves liberals. A consistently pro-Israel politician is dangerous, no matter what side of the isle they’re on. Democratic support for Israel disturbs me much more than Republican support, especially since the former touts itself as the answer to the latter. Even mainstream progressive sources are silent on the issue.

    @Yazo
“This is not a bad thing. It is what it is. In fact, as I stated, all organizations with nationalistic agendas should take notes from the ADL and AIPAC, because they are highly influential and successful.”

I must disagree. I think what they’re is doing IS absolutely a bad thing which should not be emulated by anyone with a soul. Powerful lobbies have killed any dreams we might have had in turning this country into a real democracy. Americans don’t have a voice and they’ve known it for awhile. It’s a sad day when any lobby has more control over our elected representatives than you or I do. Not to mention that this is a foreign lobby, and representatives shouldn’t even exist in a democracy… but that’s another debate entirely.

  5. I stopped reading after the assinine and vicious line about Israel committing “human rights violations thoughout the Middle East.” How can this be. The most viurlently anti-Israel governments run the vast majority of the Middle East, and Israel has little or no influence or opportunity to do anything there. It is just a scurrilous lie.

  6. @Norm
If you’d be good enough to list one country in the Middle East which has committed more human rights violations than Israel in recent history I’d be happy to debate the topic with you. However, I get the feeling your outrage is more a reactionary comeback than a valid reply based on any one line in the story. I welcome constructive discussion on the topic.
