The Daily Show: Bush Refuses to Allow Testimony Under Oath

As we reported earlier, President Bush has refused to let Karl Rove or Harriet Miers testify under oath. Instead, their interviews must be conducted in private, without the nuisance of accountability hanging over their heads. But never fear. Bush’s proposal is in fact “reasonable” (you can tell because he said so over and over again). He didn’t say so under oath of course, but demanding such declarations from the truth-tellers in the administration is an insult.

Senior Washington Correspondent John Oliver explains in the second clip that White House advisors retain the Executive Privilege to lie to Congress without consequence. Just one of those executive perks I guess.
