As Colbert explains, Bush is trying to keep the Democrats from destroying our country with partisan “show trials” by preventing them from uncovering the shady partisan practices employed by the White House. Hoping Bush’s approval rating would enjoy the same climb that Clinton’s did during impeachment, Stephen then calls the Democrats pussies for not impeaching Bush. Hilarity ensues.
Colbert’s Money Quote: “If the president’s advisors are constantly worried about being dragged before Congress, how will they be able to advise the president to do the sorts of things that would make Congress want to drag them there?”

Totally.
Look, one thing I can say for the Christian Conservative Republican Right is that they do have their shit together. If breaking into an office to shred records and getting a blowjob are standard grounds for impeachment, then shouldn’t Bush be hanged at this point?
I guess I can see why Democrats are hesitant, I mean, they only have 5 YEARS of FACTS to back them up.
