Russia’s top general Yuri Baluyevsky has said that the US would be unable to inflict a defeat in an open armed confrontation with Iran and that the result of such a confrontation would be a “huge political mistake.”
The US and its allies, namely Israel, have irresponsibly thrown around accussations that Iran is planning on building nuclear bombs without having any evidence to back it up. Israel has gone so far as to state that they would drop their own nuclear weapons on Iranian sites which they suspect of being more than just energy facilities. President Bush has also failed to engage in diplomacy with Iran, and refuses to rule out the use of force.
“It is possible to damage Iran’s military and industrial potential, but it is impossible to win,” General Yuri Baluyevsky was quoted as saying. The General went on to tell a Russian news agency “The Americans must think twice (about attacking Iran),” adding “They have already got stuck in Afghanistan and Iraq.”
So wait, there’s more to war than just bombing a region to hell and celebrating immediately afterwards? Surely the general must be mistaken or we wouldn’t have declared “mission accomplished” in Iraq nearly four years ago.

This is a mistake surely? Bush said “Mission Accomplished” and flew a plane to a carrier near the US. He declared victory, so what do you mean there’s more to it than that? I hate when you Commies change the rules after the game is up. Tch…

Win?
I think we all know by now that these “wars” are not about winning.

When Israel and/or the U.S. bomb ANY arab nation, the fanatics should regard it as the will of Allah.
Allah dictates that they should continue to live in the 1300’s, with its attendant disease, denial of ANY rights to women, and a barbaric lack of justice… and through the good graces of the military might of the western alliance, when the dust has cleared, that’s exactly what our bombings accomplish…Putting them BACK to the 1300’s they are so determined to remain in.
Without the able assistance of the western hemisphere’s bombers, arabia would be condemned to progress…which Allah forbids!
