  • Here’s a story which ought to insult your intelligence quite successfully. Thousands of crucial emails sent by Karl Rove and at least 50 other Republican criminals have been lost, according to the White House. How stupid do they think we are? These emails could indict members of the White House if they are handed over to the House Judiciary Committee, so the decision was obviously made to say they’ve vanished. For God’s sake, you guys are adults and “the virtual dog ate my email” excuse is the best you can think of? If nothing else, I wish Clinton were back in office so he could lie to me properly.
  • In case you haven’t heard, US soldiers will now serve up to 15 months in Iraq and Afghanistan instead of 12. Defense Secretary Gates admitted that the extension was the result of our forces being stretched too thin. There seems to be a direct correlation between US forces and my patience, which have both been stretched equally thin. I call it the “What the Fuck are you Idiots Thinking” effect.
  • Dutch prosecutors are trying to ban the Amsterdam chapter of the Hells Angels for no reason at all. To pay their legal costs, the biker group is organizing a benefit party to raise money. Coupled with the Burqa Ban, the Netherlands (often regarded as a truly liberal beacon to the world) seems to be headed down the all too familiar road of fascism. In other news, Saudi Arabia has just made drugs, prostitution, and gay marriage legal.
  • Dickens World is set to open its doors on the 20th of this month for the literary elite. The theme park cost 62 million pounds to make and depicts a dank London filled with ghosts and thieves. If they have enough money left over, Patrons to Dickens World will also have the opportunity to try their Dickens Cider.
  • Stem cell therapy has cured Type 1 diabetes. 15 newly diagnosed patients underwent immune suppression therapy and were then given a transfusion of stem cells from their own blood. The infusion worked on 93% of the patients and some have been freed of their dependence on synthetic insulin for three years with no mortality. Only 1 of the 15 patients has had to resume insulin injections. This great news calls for a celebration, and you all know what that means… getting funky, Brimley style.

  1. Damn I really hope the diabetes breakthrough is true. That would be amazing.

  2. it’s not a cure…. might be one day but now it is not.
This was tried on recently diagnosed diabetics, “honeymoon” periods exist and a cure would also mean no need for further treatment.

  3. Dickens World? Aw great! Look everyone, (and by everyone I mean pretty much the rest of the world), I already know you’re smarter than the Americans, do you really need to rub our faces in it?
