Apparently, al-Qaeda is planning another attack and this one is just in time for the elections! How incredibly convenient of them. Oh, and they’re supposedly working with Iran as well.

According to a “leaked” intelligence report, al-Qaeda is planning to “shake the Roman throne” with an attack on “par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki”. The report indicates that the terrorist plot will have the help of supporters in Iran, and that the Iranian government is turning a blind eye to the terrorist organization.

Anyone who remembers the administration saying that we might see a “mushroom cloud” over an American city unless we invade Iraq will immediately note the references in this report to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. European and American officials have been warning us for months about Iran’s desire to build nuclear weapons. As if that wasn’t enough, the report seems to imply that Iranian nukes (which don’t exist) will be used against us by the guys that brought you 9/11. Well in that case, it’s definitely time to vote conservative!

Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by al-Qaeda planners as a “change in the head of the company”.

The report, produced earlier this month and seen by The Sunday Times, appears to provide evidence that al-Qaeda is active in Iran and has ambitions far beyond the improvised attacks it has been waging against British and American soldiers in Iraq.

Really folks, do “intelligence” agents even research the groups they lie about anymore? Much like the Taliban, al-Qaeda is a radical Sunni group. The Iranian government is Shia and despite the suggestions of US officials, Iran has no relationship with either Sunni terrorist organization. This is exactly the same type of bullshit they pulled when they associated Saddam with al-Qaeda. Once again, we’re purposefully barking up the wrong tree.

Perhaps we can help these experts out a bit. Can anyone think of an ultra-conservative Sunni monarchy in the Middle East with real ties to Sunni terrorist organizations? Perhaps a nation whose monarchy has close ties to our president and would also benefit from a war with Iran?
