Hamas militants have declared that a five-month truce with the Israeli army “no longer exists”. The fighters shot nearly 30 rockets and 61 mortars into Israel. As usual, the projectiles caused no injuries or damage.

The rocket attacks came as a response to the death of nine Palestinians. The murders marked the bloodiest weekend since the November truce was put into affect. Amongst the dead were two teenagers. Abu Obaida, a spokesman for the brigades, said, “It’s the Israeli enemy that has not respected [the truce] and now it’s the turn of Palestinian groups.” Until today, the truce has held despite violations by both sides.
