For those of you who are regulars to the blog, you’ve probably noticed it looks a bit different. We’ve extended the white center all the way to the left of the page and changed the navigation bar up top. We’ve now got a forum and an “Action Alert” section. The action alerts will mostly be petitions for important causes. Just added to said section is a petition about the FDA catering to big pharmacy which needs to be signed before the 30th, so take action now. Please sign the Darfur and rainforest petitions as well.
We also have a new guest blogger on our team by the name of Al Swearengen, who runs deadissue. He’ll be doing a weekly Thursday post.
And last but not least, all the new coolness can be attributed to LM member Matt, who’s been working with code for dozens of hours nonstop. If you need something awesome and exciting done I highly recommend hiring him. Even if you need something lame and boring done, I’m pretty sure he’d still take the job.
Well, that’s all for now. Please inform us if you find any bugs to be worked out, and let us know what you think of the makeover.

ok,
how do we get to the older articles (i can’t see a “previous entries” at the bottom of the home page)?
i REALLY like everything else, especially the new “action” section and the fact the website loads faster! In the “action” section, why not have a side menu with links to websites like UNICEF’s inspired gifts or regular gifts. Inspired gifts allow a person to buy a gift for someone they know, the other receives a card saying what the gift is (goat, medical supplies, midwives training, HIV mothertochild vaccines etc..) and the gift is actually sent to someone who needs it in africa, asia, russia, etc…
Excellent work though ;)

Glad to be contributing - - - Love the fact that you’ve got a link to Chomsky Torrents! That tracker is one of the best things these internets got going for ‘em right now.
Still trying to get my brother (I piggyback off of his hosting account) to install my video plugin…you’re doing it right as far as that goes. As for DarkAngelJG’s design suggestions…I’ve got the worst sense of what’s good or bad outside of the content, so I’ll just hang back as far as that goes. Anyone wanting to make some suggestions on the bland design of http://deadissue.com - it’d be much appreciated!
I can figure out how to do anything involving HTML, style sheets, etc…I just never have a clue when I’m looking at it about what could be done…no ideas. Brain doesn’t take to it I suppose.

OH - got to give you kudos on that pic of Landon and Coleman…great job! Anyone ever see a movie called “Jimmy the Kid”? It’s got Coleman in it, Maxwell Smart also…he gets kidnapped in it by some really nice, dumb people. Thought about it out of the blue the other day and couldn’t figure out why.

1 more thing.
The “subscrie to artile” never works for me!
Can we PLEEEEEAAAASE (pretty please) have a simple check button to subscribe to the article when submitting a comment or simply have the current subscription work (maybe i am using it wrong, any suggestions appreciated)?
deadissue: I like the simpicity of your link. Simple and smart.
1 thing though, maybe you need to put more space between articles and videos (or use biggr/ underlined titles) as it is a bit hard (while skimming/ scrolling down fast) to see the new article from the previous one!
=)

DarkAngelJG: Maybe you can tell us how its not working. From the top of the articles, if I click on Subscribe, it links to an RSS Feed that I can use in a feed reader or in Live Bookmarks. If your getting something else when you click on it, or the link isn’t working please let us know.
