Former US president Jimmy Carter has harshly criticized President Bush and Prime Minister Blair during a series of interviews. Speaking of Bush, Carter told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, “I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history.” Carter continued, “The overt reversal of America’s basic values as expressed by previous administrations, including those of George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon and others, has been the most disturbing to me.”
He also said that Bush has taken a “radical departure from all previous administration policies” with the Iraq war. “We now have endorsed the concept of pre-emptive war where we go to war with another nation militarily, even though our own security is not directly threatened, if we want to change the regime there or if we fear that some time in the future our security might be endangered.”
In a separate interview with the BBC, Carter also criticized Prime Minister Blair. When asked how he would describe Blair’s support of Bush, Carter answered, “Abominable. Loyal. Blind. Apparently subservient.” Carter continued, “And I think the almost undeviating support by Great Britain for the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world.”

Hitler, Stalin, Pol pot, Lenin, Hussein, Howie Mandell… and Bush is the worst guy ever, Mike? Really?

@comeonguys:
Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Lenin, Hussein; none of these guys were President of the US. Carter was specifically referring to Bush as his record stands in regards to the US Executive Administration and its foreign policy. Objectivity aside, there is in fact no doubt in 72% of American minds that Bush and his cronies are indeed the worst, if not in history, (cuz Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson were pretty fucked up dudes,) then at least in this generation.
@mike mid city:
Pull back the zeal, dude. There were a lot of worst men in history, and while I would rank Bush up there, I wouldn’t award him first place by a long shot. Besides, personally, I don’t think he’s that bad a guy, I just think he’s a moron. Should we, as voters, have put such a moron in office? I think the answer is self evident.
