Two Palestinian boys, thought to be between 8 and 13 years old, were shot dead by Israeli troops in northern occupied Gaza. The children were simply scouring the area for scrap metal before they were murdered.

An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed that the children were killed by the Israeli army near the border fence. “We identified hitting three. One was lightly injured and was taken to hospital inside Israel.” The other two died after being shot in the chest. A separate Israeli army spokesperson placed the blame squarely on the children by implying that they were terrorists. He claims the boys were planting a “suspicious device” and did not “heed repeated calls” to stop. No such device was reported to have been found.

How much of a threat are two young boys to grown soldiers with guns hiding behind a wall? Palestinian children are disproportionately targeted by Israeli aggression. These boys were simply used as target practice and later painted as terrorists. This is exactly the kind of brutality and ethnic cleansing our support of Israel pays for.
