The pre-show for CNN’s Republican Debate let us know what we could expect from the debate itself - absolutely nothing substantial. I’m willing to bet that programming geared towards children is more informative and substantial than that of the 24-hour news channels, which recycle mindless filler.

Stewart skewers the whole spectacle as he rightly points out that the Republican candidates are so crazy that Bush seems like a moderate by comparison. The majority of candidates said they would even use nuclear weapons to win this epic battle. However, the one thing no candidate is willing to do to win the war is allow openly gay people to serve in the military. That alone should be the nail in the coffin for any liberal still supporting Paul over Gravel or Kucinich.

Senior Campaign Theologian John Oliver joins Stewart to explain how God operates when he wants to punish a “thrice married New York City cross-dresser” and his view on abortion. The hypocrisy of these so-called believers is made very apparent.
