Congresswoman Maxine Waters is awesome. 7 additional US representatives have now sided with the American people, rather than the political games of the Democratic party. Instead of sitting back as the ongoing death and destruction of an unpopular administration score points for their side, these 8 Democratic representatives are concerned with accountability and upholding the constitution. Aside from Dennis himself, representatives backing the articles of impeachment now include Maxine Waters (D-CA), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Janice Schakowsky (D-IL), William Lacy Clay (D-MO), and Albert Wynn (D-MD).
Pelosi seems scared to make any move towards impeachment, afraid that it will hurt her party’s popularity. Is she completely oblivious to the fact that the Democrats are unpopular because they don’t have any balls? The other Democratic presidential candidates are just now catching on to the anti-funding position Dennis has had from the start, now claiming it as their own. If it proves popular, perhaps they’ll get on board with this idea too. Unfortunately, that may not happen until the 2008 elections are already over. If the Democratic leadership wants to know how a real liberal acts, they should just follow Dennis. I’m sure he’ll be okay with them claiming his ideas as their own, just as long as something is accomplished.

Thank you Wolf for pointing out the obvious. Apparently, rhetoric and sarcasm is lost on you.

I think Democrats are still gun-shy from 2004. 2006 wasn’t a solid enough victory, so the Dems have tended to pander to the “mob” hoping to improve their electoral chances for ‘08.
I can’t say I blame them- after seeing the damage one side can do unchecked, the Democrats wish to win it all and fix the mess. With a functional majority of 49 (fifty with Sen. Johnson D-SD, once he recovers) Harry Reid has had to juggle issues, hoping the voters won’t notice the lack of progress. Of course, the lack is due to a couple of Senators helping block any agenda through procedural “filibusters” of a sort, but that’s beside the point.

Too bad CNN has such a glib “reporter” in Tom Foreman. It’s amazing how they (corporate media) can take Paris Hilton so seriously while laughing off the crimes of our so-called “leaders”.

Kucinich has about the same chance of impeaching Cheney as CNN’s Tom Foreman does of treating abuse of power and corruption in the highest offices as a serious matter worth taking seriously.
Actually, I like Kucinich’s chances better and I fully support him in his efforts to defend our constitution from this junta of thugs.

Impeach Cheney and you give Bush the opportunity to install Fred Thompson as VP and he becomes President in ‘09. Even with the miserable failures of the current administration and the previous Republican-controlled house and senate, this country remains equally divided between Democrats and Republicans. In fact, the odds that a Republican becomes the next President remains more favorable than a Democrat taking the office; especially if the latter is a woman or Black. Unpalatable, but these likelihoods need to be acknowledged.

I would like to see the source or data that backs up that information. I find in hard to believe, unless there is large scale election taking place all over the country.
