Stephen isn’t shaken up by a recent ruling stating that Bush is unable to “indefinitely detain civilians, even if he calls them ‘enemy combatants’” because he knows the President will do what he wants anyway. He’s not concerned about this “political victory” for the Democrats, because it’s still not an actual victory. Aside from symbolic achievements, the Democrats have not done what they were put into power for. Stephen thinks it’s okay to let the babies have their bottle, since it keeps them from actually challenging Bush with a real threat like impeachment. Sadly, he seems to be right.
