Is the Democratic Party trying to limit our choice to candidates who only represent corporate interests by squeezing candidates like Kucinich and Gravel out of the debates? Well, we don’t need to speculate about the intentions of top-tier candidates like Clinton and Edwards anymore, because now we have proof that this is indeed their goal. Such alterations to the democratic process are typical of both parties. How many decades has it been since the Democrats gave us the choice to vote for a real liberal? This is the kind of corruption we use to think only occurred in other countries.

Clinton agreed, according to the AP. “We’ve got to cut the number…They’re not serious.” Clinton added that she thought her campaign and Edwards’ had previously been discussing steps to eliminate other candidates. “We’ve got to get back to it,” Clinton told Edwards.

“Candidates, no matter how important or influential they perceive themselves to be, do not have and should not have the power to determine who is allowed to speak to the American public and who is not,” said Kucinich.

“Imperial candidates are as repugnant to the American people and to our Democracy as an imperial President.”

The Kucinich campaign will immediately take steps to address the planned actions of the Clinton and Edwards campaigns.

  1. Of course they do. Otherwise they might actually have to talk about issues, and their plans for actually dealing with them. Otherwise they might have to deal with tough questions from the other candidates, not just puffballs from the bootlicking “journalists” who “moderate these things. (They’re not debates. I do debates. I teach debating. These are not debates.) Otherwise they might have to do something more than just point and pose and preen.

Lord hlep me, how I despise these two.

  2. And to think that Edwards actually had ne going for a while.
