Harry Reid’s plan to break the filibuster of Iraq troop withdrawal legislation took place last night. While this was a slightly more ballsy direction for Mr. Reid, I would certainly file it under the “too little, too late” category. Colbert thinks it’s unjust to keep Republican policy makers overnight, and gives an emotional plea to bring them home. Senator Mitch McConnell even had the nerve to call the move theater. Perhaps he doesn’t know that people are dying for real, not just on his television.

One person of interest who attended the filibuster was Louisiana Senator David Vitter, though it’s not clear if he arrived in one piece. The Senator’s actions, which included having prostitutes feel-a-buster of his own, became the subject of Colbert’s Word.
