Jon Stewart does a brilliant job of explaining the most recent Democratic failure. John Oliver then joins us to critique this contrived and tedious political theater, and how the drama between the US and this War is just a rehash of classics which came before. As Oliver points out, it really is the worst type of theater, in which actors lack any real sense of passion and even the convincing ones like Hillary are simply pandering to the audience.
Stewart’s Money Quote: “While Democrats have a majority in the Senate, they don’t have the 60 vote super majority needed to bring bills like this to a vote, thus forcing the Democrats to stay up all night to prevent the Republicans from staging an all night vote-blocking filibuster. You can see why we’re fighting so hard to export this type of government to Iraq.”

[…] Then there is the Daily Show by Jon Stewart. His “theatre critic” John Oliver brilliantly critiques (select second video) the Democratic failure of seriously addressing the Iraq war quagmire. Just one quote: “It’s the same old, old story: America meets war. America gets war. War turns out to be somewhat different from what America thought it was when it first fell in love with war. But now war won’t leave America alone.” […]
