In this interview from 2003, Chomsky covers a wide variety of topics such as: Palestine, linguistics, Brazil, the internet, the progress of liberal movements in American culture, the Camp David Accords, US backing of Saddam, the legacy of Yasser Arafat, the media, NAFTA, freedom of speech, Vietnam, Neoliberalism, etc, etc. As always, the professor’s truthful account of history is a refreshing change of pace in a time of such prevalent misinformation and spin. In fact, Chomsky goes into such great depth on every subject presented that Rose asks after 44 minutes of knowledge dropping, “How come you know so much about everything?” It really is remarkable.

  1. I’m glad the Charlie Rose show (or whoever is responsible) is posting these older clips.

Check out the one with Amy Goodman from February or March 2003. Also quite riveting in a time historians will cite forever as a classic example of a state’s overwhelming propaganda in the build up to a war.
