Don’t you just love it when the corporate media gives a tool of propaganda a seemingly unbiased title like “military analyst”, and lets them make an unchallenged case about why we should preemptively attack yet another non-threatening nation? Yeah, me neither. After Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh revealed that the administration is trying desperately to find an acceptable reason to attack Iran in mid-October, retired Colonel Jack Jacobs went on MSNBC to do a bit of damage control for the warmongers of America. He assured viewers of the efficiency of an attack on Iran, but didn’t present one iota of evidence to support the rationale for such a strike. He also makes the purposeful aside that Iran is “the most dangerous country on the face of the earth”. Evidence please.

It’s sickening to see how nonchalant Jacobs is about bombing innocent people and gungho about our ability to do it. He even jokes and laughs near the end. It also wasn’t much of a surprise to me when I googled the colonel, and found out that he’s is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. The CFR is itself under the control of dozens of Fortune 500 corporations, and is probably the most powerful organization influencing United States foreign policy. So do we trust Hersh or another warmongering corporate mouthpiece? Capitalism is tyranny, and thus the nemesis of democracy. Though the vast majority of Americans oppose military intervention with Iran, it may go forward anyway because of these anti-democratic institutions controlling our supposed “democratic society”.

One Response to “Iran: “We Need to Hit Them, and We Ought to Hit Them as Soon as Possible””

  1. Gee I wonder if he has an agenda. It is chilling his demeanor. Just conversational about a third front. I think CIA or NSA is just as likely.
