Things were going well last night as Jon Stewart rightly criticized the media’s manufactured narrative of the inevitability of Hillary Clinton’s presidency. Unfortunately, at the end of the segment Stewart took a complete 180 in supporting this same corporate narrative by deriding Kucinich as a tin-hat wearing candidate not worthy of participating in the debates.
Stewart pointed out the problem with the manufactured nature of the event, but stopped just short of identifying all of its sources. Russert was the most obvious one, as he aggressively sandbagged Kucinich in the 30 second lightning round. The intention of asking such a question to someone you’ve ignored for the entire debate was clear. However, instead of criticizing the UFO question, Stewart decided to become a co-author of the manufactured narrative himself by dismissing a candidate not crowned by the media as a legitimate participant.
If you too were disappointed by the end of this otherwise brilliant segment, you should write Comedy Central here. Let them know what you think, or simply copy the text above and attach your name to it.

I can’t even bring myself to watch.
Once the blinders have been removed…you can’t go back.
Kucinich/Kucinich ‘08
Peace.

This is where Jon Stewart failed my earlier assessment of his political satire. To spoof Kucinich instead of the stupid question asked by Russert was asinine. I didn’t find Stewart’s humor throughout the entire segment funny. I agree the “corporate media” have all but christened Hillary as the next Democratic nominee for president. But I didn’t share in Jon’s humor when the reality is indeed so disheartening. Stewart sometimes thinks he’s funnier than he is. Your only as funny as the material you’ve given. The stupid live audience laughs at every stupid joke he delivers. Stewart does disappoint on occasion. And this time, he did.

Dammit. Y’know, can someone find that bitch Shirley MacLean and, I don’t know, beat the ever-loving snot out of her?!
I mean, come on, bitch!! Kucinich, despite his intelligence, dedication, work ethic, and record, has struggled this entire time with one real issue: Credibility.
I know to Kucinich fans, this isn’t an issue at all. But guess what, we’re the choir!
What he’s needed the entire time was for his words of reason and rationale to offset his perceived pinkoism and hippiness. This has been difficult, given the corperate media and its stooges, who clamor all over themselves, jumping on any little thing they can find, like his vegetarianism or his penchant for opening dialogue with “unreasonable and hostile” foreign regimes, in order to discredit him.
Enter Shirley MacLean, who decided that Now, of all fucking times in the history of the space-time continuum, would be a great time to release her book complete with details of Dennis’ UFO sighting. Thanks a lot you fucking attention whore. Yes, I said it; Attention Whore!! I don’t care if you’re the God Mother of Ghandi, you could have used just a SMIDGE more discretion. But “No,” you said, “Fuck that! Nobody’s paying attention to me anymore. I gotta sell some fuckin’ books, and if squashing the credibility of one of the most reasonable men in the Democratic Nominations will do it, well, I SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!”
So of COURSE Jon Stewart is going to jump on this. He’s a comedian. When Satire is this fucking easy, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?!
And if you think Stewart’s reaction to this was bad, just wait for the O’Reillys and the Hannitys and the Elders and the Becks and the Coulters and THE REST OF THE RIGHT WING FUCKING MEDIA IN THE WORLD to pound this into the sand.
I don’t blame Jon, not one bit.
But thanks a lot, Ms. MacLean. Well done, you fucking genious bitch, you. Way to help a brother out. Go fuck yourself.

I LOVE Jon Stewart and this truly did disappoint me. He who talks about how badly the MSM acts and treats the candidates has sunk to their level… Please Jon… apologize to Mr. Kucinich and have him on your show to discuss real issues.
