John Edwards says there are “two Americas”. He’s almost correct. Though there is indeed a huge economic gap between rich and poor, the greater disparity is between the people and their so-called representative government. Public support and political support are so incongruent on issues like the war, healthcare, the environment, government spending, and impeachment that it’s all too obvious whose interests congress is really looking out for.

The vast majority of Americans have been in favor of impeaching Vice President Cheney for quite some time. The recent attempt to kill Kucinich’s impeachment resolution earlier this week was nothing less than an attempt to kill democracy; to kill the voice of the American people. And that economic gap Edwards talks about? It too would cease to exist if we had real representation. Once again, that small percentage at the top has decided not to listen to us because they claim to know better than we do what is best for their party… oops, I mean what is best for the country.

On Tuesday, Dennis Kucinich nearly forced the full House to vote on his measure to impeach Cheney. House Resolution 333 accuses Cheney of deliberately manipulating intelligence and deceiving the public to build support for the invasion of Iraq and now towards a possible attack on Iran.

  1. It’s sad, just sad. The corporate media in this country is complicit in deciding who becomes the nominee of their respective party. Kucinich never gets a chance because the corporate media does not take him seriously and he poses a threat to the status quo. Shame on the New York Times for such deliberate black-out of Kucinich’s campaign.

  2. God help this country if Dennis doesn’t become President.

  3. I was most disturbed when Kucinich brought up the military spendatures bill in his last remaining minutes. I thought it was only radical nutters like me who worried about Bush martial law. With Kucinich now having concerns, I am really scared.

  4. I was a bit irked that he didn’t talk about Mike Gravel’s exclusion from the October 31st debate. Amy mentioned Gravel in the question, and he evaded it. He also didn’t mention it during the actual debate. I like both Gravel and Kucinich, and have heard Gravel speak very highly of Kucinich, but Kucinich doesn’t seem to want to go near him, which is unfortunate. I think they ought to stick together a little more- seeing as all the other candidates are united against them.
