Some of the questions from the Iowa Heartland Forum were mind numbingly asinine (“will you support our values?”), but others were fairly personal and relevant. The format was similar to the Logo forum, where each candidate talked to the crowd separately on all of the same issues.
So far, all of the presidential “debates” (with the exception of the PBS Debates) have not only been unabashedly biased towards the top three candidates with regards to time and spin, but have sought to ridicule the others with what little time they were allotted. Although it was ridiculously clear that the moderator supported Obama, the format itself put the underdogs on even ground with the other three. Because of this, Kucinich came out the clear winner.
Hillary, for example, had the unfortunate task of following Dennis. Her usual brand of question-dodging and insincerity stood in such a dramatic juxtaposition to Kucinich’s progressive platform and energetic connection with the working class audience that she actually got booed near the end of her time. You’ve gotta love that.

It is so hard to listen to the other candidates after hearing Dennis.
I’m totally jaded now about politicians. If you are a “Kucinich Democrat” you’ve got my support.
He rocked ‘em with this event!

@Nando
Agreed. The differences are so dramatic that endorsing Kucinich is quite literally supporting a whole slew of progressive causes (civil rights, the environment, world peace, healthcare, end to poverty, etc) that it sickens me that other so-called liberal bloggers don’t endorse Kucinich. You’re not voting for a single person, you’re voting for what they represent. No liberal can successfully rationalize why any one of those issues isn’t worth throwing their full support behind the campaign.
The only rebuttal they ever have to justify their inaction is the non-issue of “electability”, which has been packaged by the corporate media as an axiom requiring no supporting evidence. The plain truth is that Kucinich is the most electable candidate of both parties for being in line with the overwhelming majority of America.
