52-year-old Perry Kucinich, the youngest brother of Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, was discovered face down by another brother, Larry, at 9am this morning. A spokesman for the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s office said there were no signs of foul play. An autopsy will be done this afternoon to determine the cause of death.
Dennis and Elizabeth Kucinich are currently headed to Cleveland. The loss of a loved one is especially hard during the holiday season. On a side note, it’s additionally terrible that it took something like this for CNN, CBS, and other media outlets to actually mention Kucinich’s candidacy.
Our condolences go out to Dennis and the family for their loss. You can leave a message for the congressman by posting one on his YouTube channel, emailing him, and I’m sure that contributions are also appreciated.

UPDATE:
Dennis Kucinich has canceled several campaign events to spend time with family and friends through Christmas, and will resume his campaign schedule later next week. Perry Kucinich was apparently a very talented artist, and he and Dennis were planning a showing of his works in the spring.
Dennis said of his brother, “He was an admirer of the works of Klee and Picasso, and the style and structure of his artwork derived from their influences. He was a genius. He had extraordinary insights. Although he struggled with mental illness, with the help of his family and friends, he was able to lead a productive life.”
Family spokesman Andy Juniewicz said, “The Kucinich family is very close knit. This is a devastating loss to each and every member of the Kucinich family. Dennis was very close to his brother Perry. He watched after him, and he loved him dearly. The two spoke nearly every day. He was more like Dennis’ son than his brother.”

Wonder when this happened! I was surprised he wasn’t up there with Dodd supporting his filibuster.

What a tragedy …
@ Hugo: Kucinich is in the House, so he doesn’t participate in Senate procedures.
