On Wednesday, the US filed a complaint with the Iranian foreign ministry through the Swiss embassy in Iran. However, senior US Navy sources have now admitted that alleged threats heard in a video released by the Pentagon to ratchet up tensions between the two countries “may not have come” from the Iranian speedboats after all. Iran has accused the US of faking their video.

A voice which sounds suspiciously like Bela Lugosi was edited into America’s 4-minute footage of the 20-minute incident. It says, “I am coming at you – you will explode in a couple of minutes.” The audio threat includes no ambient noise, which one would expect to hear had the broadcast actually come from a speedboat. Pentagon officials said the voice could not be traced directly to the Iranian military.

  1. Just a leetle wafer-thin Gulf of Tonkin mint after our 9/11 9-course dinner?

    Waiter! Bring me a bucket!

  2. He he he he… The voices are certainly over the top, it still doesn’t mean those motor boats didn’t not represent a threat. Not a threat that the media is quite portraying. It takes a large amount of time for ships even as small as a destroyer to slow down. Had they managed to smack into one, even by mistake, would lead to a huge brew ha ha. Politics aside, the larger boat always has the right of way. At times, Iran is it’s own worse enemy and just serves US interests by scaring our Sunni allies into allowing us to continue using their bases.
