Fellow 35%er Davis Fleetwood asks, “Where have you gone Keith Olbermann?” When the people obstructing democracy are not in the Bush administration but are instead sitting behind the desk where Olbermann’s checks are written, Keith remains shamefully silent. How can he criticize the puppets at “Fox Noise” when he bends over just the same for his corporate masters at MSNBC? What the Left truly needs are unbiased journalists with integrity, not partisan hacks who are simply the flip side of Rush Limbaugh. We don’t need supposed anti-war cheerleaders, employed by military contractors, pandering to whatever safe topic will get them higher ratings. General Electric makes money off the war, but they also make money off of anti-war viewers who tune in to see Olbermann.

On the night of the “debate”, without any added commentary, Olbermann simply reported that the Nevada Supreme Court had ruled in GE/NBC’s favor that is was acceptable to exclude Dennis from the event. Olbermann then moved on to cover the horse race between the “three remaining” Democrats, and that was the end of it. The following day, Keith remained silent on the subject and decided to shoot fish in a barrel by naming Republican candidates as the “Worst Persons in the World” rather than address the actual elephant in the room - the corporate farce that he was a part of.

Shame on you Keith. It’s far too late for an apology. We want restitution for the damage you’ve done. I personally think that inviting all of the Democratic candidates (including Gravel) on Countdown to discuss the actual issues would be a start. Anyone who thinks that’s too much to ask from MSNBC obviously doesn’t think much of democracy. They’ve done this country a great disservice and are obligated to correct their mistake. Until then, we won’t be watching.

I’m sure you have your own complaints and suggestions to give Keith and MSNBC. Tell them what you think by writing to the addresses below:

  1. Reminds me of when the media felt it had some duty to report the news impartially. We all like a cheerleader for our side, but though it makes us feel better, if he/she doesn’t advance the true nature of our cause, then he/she is ultimately meaningless.

  2. You “BUSHED” me, Keith Olberman! on Countdown, by your excellent straight acting when you 1st twice mispronounced “library” a few nights ago, while discussing illegal contributions to Mr Bush’s “LI-BERRY”. Thanks for setting me straight the following night when you 3 times again did the same thing only with more deliberate emphasis. My humble apologies. An avid listener, Pat Washburn
