Bolton and McCain, Sittin’ in a Tree

Speaking at CPAC yesterday, John Bolton said he supported McCain because his policy regarding Iran “is stronger than the current Bush administration policy. And thank goodness, because the Bush administration policy now lies on the ocean floor, shredded by our own intelligence community and its National Intelligence Estimate from last December.” Oh Bolton, you silver-tongued douchebag. That was quite a poetic call for even more bloodshed (video here). Who can stop at just over a million Iraqis?

You may also remember that John Bolton, while speaking to a delegation of conservatives in the UK, urged an offensive attack against Iran to be “accompanied by an effort at regime change … The US once had the capability to engineer the clandestine overthrow of governments. I wish we could get it back.” Bolton is not only the most magnificent Wilford Brimley impersonator in Washington, he’s also the most unapologetic Neocon when it comes to settling every dispute with military force. Sometimes a dispute isn’t even necessary. In Bolton’s head, we ought to nuke nations simply because we can.

Do the American people want more war? Does the international community want more war? Does it matter? It never did before, like it would in a democracy, and it especially won’t matter if we have Bolton as Secretary of State. I think Coulter is gonna have to switch her vote back over to McCain for his “kill everyone” policy.

Bolton, along with other top neocon luminaries such as former Rudy Giuliani advisor Norman “World War IV” Podhoretz and Cheney’s David Wurmser were recently at the Israeli town of Herzliya still trying to figure out with the Israelis how they were still going to manage to attack Iran despite the 2007 NIE on Iran

    It’s the most complete synopsis/overview I’ve seen and gave me the necessary background/context to let me wrap my mind around this complex story. It’s 52 min long and excepting 2 minutes in the middle had me ‘glued to the tube’

    Ever since the 2007 NIE on Iran was released Israel and her Neocons (in this case Bolton, Podoretz, and Wurmser, amongst others) have conducted a nonstop harangue, sent numerous Israeli delegations to Washington, and have maximally pressured the Bush administration in every way imaginable to ignore the better judgments of our own intelligence and reality be damned - still attempt to launch a joint Israeli-American preemptive assault on Iran
