The American People are Irrelevant: Dick is a Bigger Dick Than You Remember

Our Vice President brieflly emerged from the cave where he bites the heads off of bald eagles to remind the public that he doesn’t give a shit about them. Cheney doesn’t care what the American people want, and we’re depressingly well aware of that fact, but for fucks sake, at least pretend to respect us and the responsibilities of your office!

The following clip was stolen from Think Progress.

Never before have I heard anyone so blatantly dismiss the will of the people in what’s supposed to be a democratic society. Who cares about Democracy? Who cares about America? Why should a despot care about the law or public opinion?

RADDATZ: Two-thirds of Americans say it’s not worth fighting.

CHENEY: So?

RADDATZ: So? You don’t care what the American people think?

CHENEY: No. I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls.

  1. Yes, let them all eat blood.

    Or something.

  2. while nothing bush or cheney does surprises me

    THIS DID!

what a total douchebag on top of being a evil prick

  3. I am a mostly liberal minded person when it comes to politics. However, in my opinion, what Dick Cheney says does not offend me at all as an American. Despite how unsupported the Iraq Conflict is, we are stuck in a pickle and I believe if the United States were to pull out of Iraq, the nation would start moving backwards instead of forwards. I think we need to stay there and finish the job, and we could finish the job within a year or less. The way I see it, we are stuck in Iraq, so let’s stop dicking around over there and get the job done.

  4. @Rob
    That job would be?

  5. Yeah Rob. Would you mind elaborating on how “the job can get done” with a broken military and NO military draft? They weren’t enough troops put into Iraq to stabilize it. You’d need AT LEAST 500,000 troops in the country to “get the job done”. Another problem is that the administration has not engaged the countries in the region to come to the table and help pick up the pieces. The administration should be offering these countries, particularly Iran, economic incentives for co-operating in cleaning up the Iraqi mess so that the U.S. can get back to focusing on Afghanistan.

And you say you’re a liberal - so what? You sure as hell don’t sound one. I think David Horowitz was a liberal back in the day. Now he’s another Neocon crony. My point is that talk is cheap. I don’t give a shit who’s a liberal and who’s a conservative. What I want to know is whether that particular person has the balls to get something positive done, either domestically or overseas. It’s been a loooooooong time since anything positive has been done in Washington, D.C.
