Regular readers know that The Largest Minority does not shy away from controversial topics, and so it was surprising to me when Reuters picked up my piece “Israeli Troops Given the Go-Ahead to Kill Peaceful Palestinian Protesters” and put it on their website. Imagine that. However, posting important news was obviously a big mistake for the news source, and they caved in to pro-Israeli pressure to take my post down.
The ironically named HonestReporting website, which proudly specializes in bullying anyone who calls Israel’s human rights abuses into question, was apparently responsible for the post being removed. Here’s a well-thought out excerpt from their review of my article:
Merely the term “Zionist regime”, popularized by terrorist groups and individuals such as Iran’s President Ahmadinejad, should have been enough to raise alarm bells at Reuters as to the unsuitability of such a posting. Not to mention the contents of the piece itself, which maliciously accuses Israel of actively seeking to kill Palestinian protestors.
Yeah, they spelled “protesters” wrong, but don’t let that distract you from the fact that President Ahmadinejad himself probably wrote the piece (and we all know he’s just as bad as Hitler). As for Israel actively seeking to kill Palestinian protesters, well we know that’s just too silly an assertion to even go through the trouble of proving false. Why would Israel want to kill the people living on the land they’re stealing?
Has Israel really given troops the green light to fire live rounds on peaceful Palestinian protesters? Well, Blogadinejad says so, but there’s really no way to fact check that sort of thing to prove him wrong. It’s not like he linked a legitimate source in the post, and you certainly won’t find an independent news source reporting the same thing. Don’t bother doing your own research. Let’s just insist that the story is an inaccurate fabrication and have it removed.
HonestReporting’s mission statement starts with the the following sentence: “Israel is in the midst of a battle for public opinion – waged primarily via the media.” They then go on to explain how their goal is to bring fairness and balance to the media by battling prejudice. Hmmm, where have I heard that before?
In closing, I’d just like to thank Reuters for adjusting their content to reflect the agenda of a PR group. Reality is given a makeover and the news is safe to read once again.

I notice “Honest Reporting” doesn’t allow critical feedback on their posts. They “review” all posts before displaying them.
How very honest…

Once again, and I know we’ve covered this before, but aren’t the Jews and the Arabs from the same cultural and language background? That makes them both Semites. Therefore, does not firing rounds into Arab civilians also count as Anti-Semitism? I mean, when exactly did Semitism start referring only to the Jews.
(Note, I will no longer refer to the idiot Israelis as Jews, because I can’t believe that All Jews, including the ones in America, agree with the actions of Israel. So from now on, the idiot Israelis will now be referred to as:
Idiot Israelis.)
